Over a hiking distance of 350 kilometres follow the gentian symbol of the Salzburg Almenweg through the mountains. From the Lower Tauern to the Hohen Tauern and across to the Bischofsmütze and the Hochkönig Massif. Over the 31 stages you will collect unforgettable impressions and enjoy unspoilt nature. And of course you visit some of the 120 “Salzburg Alpine Summer Chalets” with their typical alpine chalet character, hearty Austrian specialties and authentic Austrian hospitality. At each alpine summer chalet you will get a stamp for your Almweg Hiking Map. You can also earn a gentian hiking badge as an incentive and everlasting memory. For each five hiking targets you reach you will receive the gentian badge in bronze. After ten you will get a silver hiking badge. Gold is available after 20 stages and the diamond gentian is the trophy for all 31 hiked stages.
